Bayanihan to Recover as One Act 2 Extends Grace Period for Regular Life Insurance Policies

Paramount Life & General Insurance Corporation shall apply the 60-day grace period to regular life insurance policy premiums due from September 14, 2020 to December 31, 2020 .  In accordance with the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act 2 (Republic Act No. 11494),  payment made within sixty (60) calendar days from the due date window will be accepted without overdue interest charge.  

If you are paying through Automatic Debit /Charge Arrangement or Post-Dated Checks (PDCs) and you wish to avail the one-time 60-day grace period, please inform us so we can suspend your nominated Auto-Debit Bank Account, Credit Card and hold your issued PDCs.  If we do not receive any advice from you, we shall continue with your Automatic Debit /Charge and PDC payments, as scheduled.

In 1979, IIAP established the Professional Chair, a specialized fund that allows partner organizations to financially support causes aligned with their mission of elevating the field of insurance and reinsurance to higher standards through continuous research and education. Believing that education is an essential component for progress and achieving excellence, Paramount Life & General Insurance Corporation (Paramount) in partnership with IIAP has two existing professional chairs namely:


Endowed on June 6, 1990 under the name of Paramount’s founding Chairman for the purpose of conducting training and research on Claims Settlement, with the end view of educating and satisfying the insured of the fair settlement of their legitimate claims.


Endowed on January 10, 1993 for the purpose of conducting training and/or research on Marine Insurance for the benefit of the insurance industry. On September 2, 2004, the name was changed from Seaboard Chair to the Jose Halili Co Chair in honor of the company's late Chairman and CEO.

On August 13, 2020, Paramount once again reaffirmed its commitment to excellence by establishing the ROSANNA L. GO CHAIR for the purpose of conducting training and research on adapting sustainable business practices within the Philippine Insurance Industry. Manila, Philippines - In light of the recent calamity brought about by the Taal Volcano eruption, Paramount Life & General Insurance Corporation launched a campaign entitled "A Call for Help". It is the company's fundraising and donation drive providing relief efforts to some of the victims affected by the catastrophe.

Cash and in-kind donations from Paramount employees were put together to make relief packs for distribution which included towels, clothes, tableware, food , medicines and hygiene kits.

On January 24, Paramount representatives headed by Miss Diana Lao, Head of Human Resources, in close coordination with the local government unit, went to Alfonso, Cavite to personally hand out Paramount relief packs to the evacuees at Saint John Nepomuceno Parish. An estimate of 50 families and 200 individuals were present during the relief operations.

Paramount Life & General Insurance Corporation (“Paramount”) today announces that it has entered into definitive, conditional agreements with QBE Asia Pacific Holdings Limited (“QBE”) and Seaboard Eastern Insurance Co., Inc (“Seaboard”) to acquire a 100% interest in QBE Seaboard Insurance Philippines, Inc. (“QBE Seaboard”). The acquisition will further enhance Paramount’s footprint and position in general insurance in the Philippines and is in line with its strategic priority to accelerate growth.

MANILA, Philippines Prior to the passage of data privacy legislation in the Philippines, particularly Republic Act No. 10173, otherwise known as the "Data Privacy Act of 2012", life insurance companies have already shared medical & non-medical information, including information of our policyholders, among themselves through an existing Medical Information Bureau (MIB) administered by the Philippine Life Insurance Association (PLIA). The sharing of medical & non-medical information was done in order to enhance risk assessment and prevent fraud.

In accordance with the Insurance Commission's Circular Letter No. 2016-54, our policyholders’ medical & non-medical information previously collected by the MIB will be uploaded to a Medical Information Database (MID) accessible to life insurance companies. Once uploaded, all life insurance companies shall have limited access to our policyholders’ information in order to protect their right to privacy in accordance with law. Meanwhile, the highlight of the day was the formation of the largest human PLGIC 65th Year logo which gathered more than 200 of Paramount’s employees while holding up blue, yellow and black colored umbrellas as a way to commemorate this milestone.

Alongside the 65th Year campaign, the Office of Chairman/CEO and Executive Vice Chairperson launched the Paramount X Prize, an inter-office contest that encourages employees to think about platform strategies and innovations while continuing Paramount’s client purpose: “To protect what’s important for you”.
